About Anthony DeRouen - Founder

In Christopher Nolan's 2005 Batman Begins,  Alfred asks Bruce Wayne,

"Why bats, Master Wayne?"

"It's time my enemies share my dread."

The Death's Parade Film Festival is born from my fear-- and love -- of the unknown. The lurking shadows, the bumps in the night, the feeling of eyes watching you sleep. I can't wait to share my love of horror with the Bay Area. It's a fun genre to be involved in, both as a fan, and as a writer.

I've written, produced and directed two horror short films, one which picked up a Spotlight Horror Award, and I'm working on a number of feature screenplays. You can follow my personal work here.

This event  serves as the California Bay Area's first big horror-centric film festival in years. You will not find any sci-fi or fantasy here.  Just horror. You may find some laughs, however; be prepared for thrills and chills!

The Death's Parade Film Festival will feature short films and feature films from around the world, with an emphasis on paranormal, psychological and body horror, killers, monsters, zombies, gore,  and dark comedy.

The festivities happen October 5th 2019 at the Towne 3 Cinema in San Jose. See you there!
